Downloaded the demo and ran the "Free Scan". The result came back claiming that nine (9) programs and three (3) drivers were "out of date". Sounds like a good program, right? I had the feeling that I was being conned.

The demo won't let you see which drivers or programs it claims are needing update. The specific results are deliberately hidden by an "always-on-top" result window. Closing that window closes the program. Up pops a nag screen saying that you have to BUY the program to see the results! What chutzpa! I remember similar techniques like this from the old days, with "update-checker" programs and antivirus programs.

They would claim that something needed "fixed" or "updated" and that they could do it automatically for you if you buy the program. Problem is that most of those were outright lying to get your money. Most of them -- if they checked anything at all-- only checked the "install date" for the item. If that date was more than a few months old, the scam program would claim that they found an "update" that your computer needed. When you acquired the full program and clicked on the "update now" button, it would come back with the result that there were no updates available (N.B. No surprise here...).

Only then do you realize that the program you paid for was not really checking anything-- at least not like you thought it was.

Don't fall for this scam. A demo program should actually work so you can assess it's true value. Alarmist claims from a "demo" that says your computer is in need of something -- without giving you the opportunity to verify it's accuracy are usually rip-offs. Stay away from this one.
